Profound Simplicity

I have been a fan of Snatam Kaur for a few years now. She has an amazing voice.

This You Tube video is extremely simple but the message is so profound. It's challenging to watch it and not be moved by the glimpses of innocence that are found in the faces and eyes of the children.

PARADOX OF FAITH AND TRUTH

As I struggle with trying to understand the meaning and mysterious paradox of belief and faith versus truth and reality, this song comes along and expresses the deepest feelings of a seeker's heart - that God is REALLY love and that to know God is not the right or privilege of a particular race or ethnic group; that Truth does not "belong" to anyone or is not acquired through some secret ritual or ceremony.

I have been foolish to mistake knowledge for truth and religion for reality.

GOOD NEWS - GOD IS NEAR - NO WAITING

Jesus tried to tell us that we didn't need religion anymore to know God. God had come near; in fact, God had never left. But Jesus' Good News was way too important to share with just anyone -  it had to be an exclusive.  The free gift of God's love had to be turned into an exclusive social club for the "elect." That is, to those who think, act and believe according to the standards of the Church or religion, as defined by the committee. As if truth is determined through democratic process.

But I realized, in a rare moment of clarity, that I was mistaken. Maybe that's what repentance is really all about.

"The sun shines on everyone and doesn't make choices"

Such wise words, my friend. The truth of the gospel is SO SIMPLE! Why do we always make it so difficult. :)
