Here to show everybody the light..............

The Beatles

"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination"
- John Lennon
"I'd rather be one of the devotees of God than one of the straight, so-called sane or normal people who just don't understand that man is a spiritual being, that he has a soul."
- George Harrison
In memory of
John Lennon and George Harrison

The Beatles were such an important part of my life when I was growing up - which I'm beginningto understand, never stops!!
I can't speak for everyone, but being an adolescent in England when the Beatles came on the scene was absolutely life changing for me. I often think through all the important events in my life and can literally trace them back to some influence of the Beatles.
I don't remember too much about my life before the Beatles - I was a rather shy, somewhat lonely kid passionate about toy cars and comic heroes, with only a few friends. I hated school and mostly wanted to be left alone with my imagination.
Then the Beatles came along - I discovered my love for, and ability to make, music. They influenced my interests, my clothing, my language, my attitude, my disposition. Most kids are influenced by peer pressure - I got mine from the Beatles!
Whatever the Beatles did, I wanted to try - and so when the Beatles became immersed in spirituality - so did I. Like music, it turned out to be more than just a hobby.
So, I'm eternally grateful to the Beatles for so many things in my life.
Because of the Beatles:
  • I learned to play and appreciate all kinds of music
  • I learned to enjoy good poetry and literature
  • I learned to appreciate good humor and comedy
  • I learned the value of experiences and trying new things
  • I emigrated to America and met some great friends
  • I met and married my wife (we shared a common passion for the Beatles)
  • I discovered the importance of a spiritual life

There is just so much that I think I wouldn't have known or cared about - had it not been for them, in some way, influencing me deeply.

"There are places I remember all my life,
Though some have changed,
Some forever, not for better,
Some have gone and some remain.
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends
I still can recall.
Some are dead and some are living.
In my life I've loved them all.
But of all these friends and lovers,
There is no one compares with you,
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new.
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
In my life I'll love you more.
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before,
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
In my life I'll love you more.
In my life I'll love you more. "
- "In My Life" by John Lennon
